Hi everyone; it is time to don your favorite team’s NFL apparel and join us at the Lodge on Sundays for another season of football. Last year was awesome. There was lots of trash talking and cheering going on the whole season. We have seven receivers so there is no excuse not to stop down and cheer your team to victory. This year will be even better. You will be allowed to bring in your own food or order for delivery. The Sunday Lodge hours are 11am to 7pm. So whether its football that you crave or a few games of euchre while just listening, please stop down and enjoy the fellowship that our Social Quarters is known for. I can’t wait to see you there.

2011-2012 Membership Campaign

I’m hoping that we can count on you again for this next year which began on May 1st and will run until April 30, 2012.
As always, there are awards to be earned for the members that you sign up during the year. At the Lodge level, when you sign up your first member, you qualify for next year’s Preferred Member Party. There will be a new campaign and new awards every quarter,
The best award is provided by Moose International, free dues, when you sign up your first two enrolled members of the fiscal year. This is a program that Moose International started last year and has vowed to do forever. Sign up two members every year and never pay dues again. Help yourself to free dues, help your Lodge by strengthening our membership and let’s make Iowa City 1096 the best it can be.

Brothers and Sisters of the Moose, I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone who helped out and participated during Supreme Governor Wes Crowder’s visit. It was a huge success due in large part by all of the hard work and planning from the women, men and especially the Future Senior Regent in Training.
Second I would like to praise Dennis Forbes and his team of willing and valued members for putting together a very successful Moose Olympics. They raised $1,000 for the Moose Endowment Fund, as well as another $1,000 for the University of Iowa Miracle Burn Camp. Thanks for everyone who donated for the silent auction and games for all the people to enjoy.
The Moose Legion is raffling off tickets for a “Wagon of Booze”. We will be giving the prize away at 9:15pm on New Years Eve, following the 9 o’clock prayer. Buy your tickets from the bartender or any Moose Legion member. One ticket costs just $1.00; or 6 tickets for $5.00.
Please join us at our monthly meetings, the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm. We are looking forward to ending the year on a very high note. Thanks again to everyone in the Lodge for making this a great place to be a part of.
