2013-2014 Membership Campaign

I’m hoping that we can count on you again for this year to sign members. Until April 30, 2014 MI has waived the $20 fee for every new member. The cost to the new member is $40.
As always, there are awards to be earned for the members that you sign up during the year. At the Lodge level, when you sign up your first member, you qualify for next year’s Preferred Member Party. The best award is provided by Moose International, free dues when you sign up two members! This is a program that Moose International started in 2011 and has vowed to do forever. Sign up two members every year and never pay dues again. Help yourself to free dues, help your Lodge by strengthening our membership and let’s make Iowa City 1096 the best it can be.

Moose Legion Campaign

The Moose Legion has followed MI in their pursuit of new members by charging a flat $10 fee for new members. They also offer the 2 member free dues as well- sign up to Loyal Order Of Moose members to the Moose Legion, and your next years dues are paid.
The Moose Legion is the next step in a LOOM's journey. Moose Legion members are the "movers and shakers" of Moose! They are the backbone of support for Mooseheart, Moosehaven and our Lodges.

This has been a great season for the Mooseheart Ramblers. As I write this, the Ramblers are 8-0. One more game, then off to the play-offs. Best of luck to them. In October, Coach Urwiler was selected as the Chicago Bears High School Coach of the week for the Chicago Area. The team will get $1500 to use for the football program. One of the retired Bears was coming to Mooseheart to meet the team and coach, talk with them and have lunch. Pretty nice for them.
Homecoming was a winner, with a pizza party given for the Iowa Eastern Nebraska kids (which we currently have 30 at MH now), the Sunshine Children for the Iowa/E. Nebraska Lodges, Family Teachers and other kids that want to come join in our fun. Thank you to the Association Higher Degree Council for making this possible. Hopefully more Iowa City members can attend next year.
The youngest Mooseheart student is two years old. There were 200 students on September 30th, plus ten day students enrolled. There are four kids non school age, eight in nursery school, 40 in elementary, 62 in middle school, and 87 in high school.
Moose Members can now visit Moosehaven and Brandon Place at Moosehaven on Facebook. The Moosehaven website is currently under construction.
The latest census is that there are 100 men and 145 women living at Moosehaven. Applications are down, so now is a good time to think about if it would be a place you could be happy. They do a lot of fun things and keep busy. The average age currently is 81.8 years.
Thank you for your support of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Mooseheart is going to again have their light display for Christmas. It is worth driving up to see. Our Association will have a display.
